This year’s theme ‘Know your rights, use your rights’ is a vital reminder that carers should feel informed, empowered and confident in accessing the support they are entitled to.

Yet many carers still find that their own health and wellbeing takes a backseat.

At Dorset Intelligence & Insight Service (DiiS) we have been working with partners across Dorset to uncover hidden carers and targeting support.

Through improved coding, data-driven insights and collaborative action, registered carers in Dorset have increased from 5,000 in 2018 to 21,000 in 2025 enabling truly targeted intervention.
