On 14th November 2024 the DiiS team attended Dorset’s first health inequalities conference in Bournemouth with nearly two hundred local clinicians, care and support staff attending.

The event, organised by NHS Dorset, put those working in health and care across the county in the shoes of people experiencing health inequalities, giving them a unique opportunity to better understand some of the issues people face and how inclusion can improve health outcomes.

Along with presentations and workshops throughout the day, guest speaker Cormac Russell gave an international perspective with examples of how inequalities have been addressed in other parts of the world.
