Neurodiversity Celebration Week challenges stereotypes and promotes inclusion, recognising and respecting neurological differences.
We often talk about specific neuro differences including Autism and ADHD, but these can also
co-occur.
It is estimated that 15% – 20% of the UK population has a neurological difference.*
The prevalence for Autism in the UK is 1.3%.**
In Dorset just over 14,000 people (1.7% of the population) have a diagnosis of Autism,
of these:
1,700 have a diagnosis of both Autism and a Learning Disability
Over 3,000 have an Autism and ADHD diagnosis.
