At the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Wessex, we conduct applied health research with our partners and others in the health and care sector, alongside patients and members of the public.

Applied health research aims to address the immediate issues facing the health and social care system. We also help bring research evidence into practice and provide training for the local workforce.

NIHR ARC Wessex is one of 15 ARCs in England that work collaboratively to address national research priorities, with individual ARCs providing national leadership in their areas of expertise.

ARC Wessex is working with other ARCs in England to take the lead on the healthy ageing, dementia and Frailty National Priority Programme.
