Claire Nadaf is the Head of Academic Enterprise and Engagement at Health Sciences University (prev. AECC University College) in Bournemouth. Claire, a registered nurse and nurse academic has worked in higher education for a number of years focused on workforce development and transformation initiatives for the healthcare sector. Claire has considerable experience in project management and quality improvement initiatives and enjoys encouraging both clinicians and academics to ‘think outside the box’ regarding their roles to encourage both innovation and improvement with the patient at the centre. In her current role Claire holds responsibility for knowledge exchange initiatives and stakeholder engagement. She is an experienced bid writer, having secured a number of successful tenders during her career.

Claire is at the tail end of her professional doctorate, a hermeneutical phenomenological study which focuses on the use of the National Early Warning Score for identification and management of patient deterioration. Claire has developed a number of educational initiatives aimed at patient safety improvement including the e-learning for health deteriorating patient programme. Claire is a judge for the Nursing Times Patient Safety Improvement Award.
