Bournemouth has many fabulous local advantages – the beach, beautiful gardens and great architecture but without people it becomes stagnant and feels uninviting. Keeping our town centres bustling and thriving is a vital component in maintaining a safe and attractive environment for everyone who visits, works or lives there. BCP Council is actively working towards a cleaner and safer town centre experience for all those who use it. As well the great work that’s taking place within the cleansing and highways departments, BCP Council are organising volunteering days for staff and residents to get involved in making their town centre feel like a place they want to be.

There is also help for businesses through BCP Council’s Economic Development team who can assist with connections to others in the sector, access to grant funding, nurturing a skills pipeline for the future and sharing useful information – to mention just a few services. With a strong, varied local economy and people who take pride in Bournemouth we can all do our bit to make Bournemouth Town Centre THE place to visit, whether that’s for shopping, relaxing, socialising or working. And with all these elements in place it also becomes the best place to live!

Rachel Doe, BCP Project Manager and DIH Core Team member, explains more about this BCP Council initiative in a promotional video which can be accessed here.
