Health Innovation Wessex connects NHS and academic organisations, local authorities, the third sector and industry to support improved health and care outcomes through innovation. We are commissioned by NHS England and Improvement and the Office for Life Sciences.

We are a member-led organisation, and work with our members to support the creation and spread of innovation. Our members include seven acute trusts, four CCGs and four universities. We serve a population across Hampshire, Dorset, Isle of Wight and southern Wiltshire of around 2.7 million people.

Our work spans the entire innovation journey; from idea conceptualisation, through development, testing in practice, evaluation and finally spreading innovation. We take a broad view of innovation – whether it be MedTech, digital, devices, diagnostics, process or pathways – and provide a range of support to innovators through our diverse range of innovation programmes, which include both nationally-prioritised and locally-developed innovations. You can see examples of our work on our website.

We have partnered with the Dorset Innovation Hub to support the Hub with its ambition to spread proven and impactful innovations across Dorset, and to develop a sustainable innovation culture across the ICS.
