People who use health and social care services are in the best place to help design and improve them. We use the term patient and public involvement to describe involving people and local communities in planning, prioritising, purchasing, delivery, and evaluation of health and social care services.

Recognising the importance of patient and public involvement (PPI), the Dorset Innovation Hub work to include PPI into our activities. This has included:

  • PPI representatives leading a workshop at the Innovation Hub Summit (June 2024)
  • Creation of a ‘Your Story’ video as a training and experience resource
  • PPI involvement in a local evaluation of the impact of the Dorset Innovation Hub
  • Creation of a blog, by PPI representatives, on meaningful engagement with service users

For further information information about how we work to include PPI into our activities, please see the NHS Dorset ‘Working in partnership with people and communities’ 2024/25 annual report or email dorsetinnovationhub@nhsdorset.nhs.uk.
