You care. We care. Let’s celebrate you.

Are you looking after someone close to you? You might not call yourself a carer, but if you support a friend or family member with illness, disability, mental health, frailty, or substance use, that’s exactly what you are.
And this week is for you.
Carers Week is a chance to recognise everything you do, every day. It shines a light on the challenges carers face, while helping more people find the support they need.
This year’s theme is “Building Carer Friendly Communities.”
Across Dorset, we are coming together to make sure carers feel seen, supported, and valued.
Throughout the week, organisations supporting carers will be heading out into the community to find hidden carers and raise awareness of the support available locally. They also have planned a programme of events for carers to get involved in.

What’s on
There are free events happening across Dorset, and you are warmly invited.
Some events are in person and some are online, so you can choose what feels right.
You can also download a printable events calendar to see what’s happening near you.

Support doesn’t stop after the week
Carers Week is just the start. Support is here for you all year round.
