You care for others. We’re here for you.

Join Weymouth & Portland Primary Care Network and Help & Care for a free Health and Wellbeing Fair, bringing together local organisations offering information, advice and support for unpaid carers.

Whether you’re caring for a family member, friend or loved one, this friendly event is a chance to learn about your rights, discover local services and take some time to focus on your own health and wellbeing.

What can you expect?

  • Around 30 information and support stalls: Meet local organisations offering advice and services for carers and the people they support, including adults, children and young people.
  • Information about your rights: Find out more about your rights as an unpaid carer and the help you may be entitled to.
  • Practical advice and support: Speak to local services about the challenges you may face in your caring role and discover what help is available across Weymouth and Portland.
  • Free blood pressure checks: Take the opportunity to check your blood pressure and focus on your own health.
  • The Tree of Caring: Share a positive message, a helpful tip or a reflection about your caring experience by adding a paper leaf to a special interactive tree. After the event, the tree will be displayed at a local library to raise awareness of unpaid carers and the support available.
  • Free refreshments: Take a break, enjoy a drink and connect with other carers and local organisations.
  • Free parking: Parking will be available, with additional spaces arranged at a nearby venue.

Who is this event for?

This event is for anyone who provides unpaid care or support to a family member, friend or neighbour.

You might be looking after an older relative, a partner, a child or young person with additional needs, or someone living with a disability or long-term health condition.

Whether you’re new to caring, have been caring for years or aren’t sure if you’re a carer, you’re welcome to come along.

Why come along?

Caring for someone can be rewarding, but it can also bring challenges, and finding the right support isn’t always easy.

This event gives you the chance to speak directly with local organisations, get answers to your questions and discover services that could make everyday caring easier.

It’s also an opportunity to think about your own wellbeing, connect with others and share your experiences through the Tree of Caring.

How to attend

The event is free and open to unpaid carers across Weymouth, Portland and the surrounding area.

Come along between 10am and 2pm to explore what’s on offer.
