This project will provide substantial enhancements to patient services at Dorset County Hospital (DCH) in Dorchester.
The Integrated Emergency, Primary and Community Services Hub will create purpose-built emergency and intensive care facilities and an integrated hub for patient-facing primary and community services. It will deliver:
- A new integrated primary and community services hub, including capacity to offer multi-disciplinary patient assessments as well as bringing the existing admin hub onto the Dorset County Hospital site to enable integration of care pathways
- An expansion of the Emergency Department (A&E) with capacity to meet the needs of a growing population. It will provide an emergency zone, including same day emergency care (SDEC), to transform emergency services
- An expanded intensive care service to support those who are critically unwell.
