Following a competitive national recruitment process, we are delighted to announce that Patricia Miller OBE has been successfully appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer Designate for Dorset’s Integrated Care Board (ICB).

As Chief Executive Designate, Patricia will be responsible for overseeing complex health services and health improvement programmes for the 800,000 people and communities living within Dorset.

On her appointment Patricia said: “It is an honour to be appointed to this role and I am looking forward to be leading this new and exciting team.

“We have an outstanding workforce in Dorset with staff who have been working incredibly hard and in very difficult circumstances. There are still big challenges ahead for us as health and local government colleagues continue to deal with significant pressures, but we have an opportunity to do things better and differently.

“I am looking forward to working closely with our partners to continue the great progress we have made improving the healthcare of our communities and making a real difference to the people we serve.”

Patricia takes up the role after serving as Chief Executive of Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since 2014.

Dorset’s Integrated Care Board Chair Designate Jenni Douglas-Todd said: “I am delighted Patricia has been appointed to the role.

“Patricia has a strong track record of leading transformational change and is passionate about equality, diversity, inclusion and health inequalities.

“I also want to take this opportunity to thank Tim Goodson for his dedication and leadership over the last nine years, particularly during the pandemic and our vaccination response where we faced unprecedented pressure on our services. Tim has led the development of Dorset’s ICS from the start, and we are thankful for his leadership to date.”

On the future of the ICS Jenni adds:

“Our Integrated Care System (ICS) has been at the forefront of delivering integrated care and transforming the way we deliver services. Patricia’s experience and skills make her the ideal leader to take us forward.

“I’m very much looking forward to working closely with Patricia on the challenges ahead.”
