“People living in Dorset should be proud of their local NHS.” that’s the message from Tim Goodson, Chief Officer NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group following recent inspections by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

In the latest inspections the major providers of NHS services in Dorset have been rated as Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

  • Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
  • The Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
  • Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust
  • South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

Tim Goodson, Chief Office of NHS Dorset CCG continues “At a time when the NHS is seeing increased demands and a number of significant challenges, having all our major providers rated as Good is testament to the continuing hard work of everyone in the NHS throughout the county, and I am both delighted and proud that we have achieved this.

The CQC regularly inspects all organisations that provide health services, publishing their findings along with an overall performance rating.

During a visit the CQC inspects eight core services to ensure they are
