Our Dorset, the partnership of health and social care organisations from across the county, has launched a new online video library.

It comes as part of the #HereForYou campaign which reassures Dorset residents that their health services are still available should they need them, and that they should seek help despite the current COVID-19 pandemic, whether that be from home or at an NHS site.

The library contains over 200 easy-to-follow videos, organised into 43 categories which cover a number of areas, including alcohol use, cardiology, diabetes, medicine management, sexual health and podiatry.

It also features several videos relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, including how to order repeat prescriptions during lockdown, labour care for pregnant people, and the importance of attending hospital in an emergency.

Many more videos are scheduled to be released over the coming months.

Dorset GP, Dr Martin Longley, said:

“We want to ensure that Dorset residents know their NHS is still running and that services are available for them should they need them.

“The new online video library provides people with information that informs, educates and supports them in understanding and managing their own health, both during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.

“The videos are a fantastic resource, approved by local doctors, which give easy to follow advice and information on a variety of topics. This is particularly helpful at the moment when access to services may be slightly different for people, or if they need a bit of additional guidance or reassurance.

“They’re a really useful resource for the people of Dorset, and I’m delighted that we can share them with you at this extremely difficult time.”
