Today sees the publication of the NHS Long Term Plan which will save almost half a million lives with practical action on major killer conditions and investment in world class, cutting edge treatments.
NHS Dorset CCG Chief Officer Tim Goodson “We welcome the NHS Long Term Plan which was published today as it very much reflects our own local ambitions and will help to overcome the challenges we face including a growing demand for services and staff shortages.
Giving people more control over their own care and focussing on preventing illness and health inequalities will help save thousands of lives and the increased investment in primary and community care along with mental health services will bring care closer to home whilst at the same time supporting care in the acute hospitals.
We have well documented plans for the future of care in Dorset and we look forward to working with the national team and our local partners over the coming months to shape what the national plan means for local partners.”
