A carer is a person of any age, who provides unpaid help and support to a person who could not manage without this help and support. They make an enormous contribution to society and saving the economy billions of pounds.

The Pan Dorset Carers Steering Group is a strategic group consisting of carers, voluntary and community sector organisations, local authorities and health organisations who collaborate to shape services for carers in Dorset. We worked together to create a shared vision 5 years ago ‘Valuing Carers in Dorset 2016-2020’ and have since been working on supporting and monitoring progress made towards it.

The Pan Dorset Carers Steering Group is now reviewing and updating this strategic vision which it hopes to publish this year (2024).

This page will be updated when the new vision is published. Coming soon.
